Trip Planning Under Way

Sean and Margaret are planning an around the world trip, and we are putting together a blog in the hopes that part of our trip might be of interest to our friends, and that they might come with us! We will add in some of the particulars as we continue our planning, but for specifics on flights and hotels, it would be best to send us an email. Also we will post pictures and our daily journeys when we finally get there. Here is our current plan:

Asia/South Pacific
June 1 Fly from Seattle to Narita. Take bullet train to Kyoto. We will be staying in a Buddhist temple while we stay in Japan, a little bit more upscale than a hostel, and a fraction of the price of staying in a hotel.

June 3 Day Trip to Nara

June 5 Checking out Nijo Castle
June 6 Shopping and getting tasty Sushi

June 8 Hop on Bullet train back to Narita and flying to Bangkok

June 10 Tour Temples and shop in Bangkok, hop on plain to north thailand - Chiang Mai

June 15 Tour Temples of Chian Mai and hop on plane to Cambodia, Arrive Siem Riep

June 18 Explore Hanoi, catch night train to Hue
June 19 Wake up in Hue, explore UNESCO Forbidden Purple Palace, catch evening train towards Ho Chi Min

June 21 Arrive in Ho Chi Min and explore
June 22 Explore Ho Chi Min then catch flight from Ho Chi Min (Saigon)to Sydney
June 23 Sydney to Ayers Rock (the outback) to Cairnes

EUROPE
July 29- August 31 - Eurorail Pass and no schedule Our plan is to follow the coast down from Budapest, and we'll make sure to stop in La Cinque Terre in Italy, then we'll loop across Southern France and Spain. Once in Spain we'll make our first horseshoe up, and come back across Spain, France, and on up to England/Ireland/Scotland until we get to Bergen. From Norway we'll go down to the Netherlands and Germany and catch a flight back to the states on August 31st

Road Trip Across the US
September 1 - Fly into Boston, stay with Auntie Cathie
September 2 - Boston Freedom Trail
September 3 - Ask Uncle Wayne to help us buy a car for our road trip across the states
September 4 - Go to Auntie Ellie's via Chauncy Creek (New Hampshire)
September 5 - Explore Portsmouth and New Castle (New Hampshire and Maine)
September 6 - Drive to Marissa house and crash ( New York)
September 7 - Hang out with Marissa and celebrate her birthday (a week early)
September 8 - Drive to Niagra Falls
September 9 - Drive and Site See
September 10 - Drive and Site See
September 11 - Arrive in evening at Grandma's (Kansas)
September 12 - Play on Farm
September 13 - Explore Wichita, visit family for dinner
September 14 - Drive and Site See
September 15 - Drive and Site See
September 16 - Arrive in yellowstone
September 17 - Play in Yellowstone
September 18 - Leave Yellowstone
September 19 - Drive and Site See - Note: Potential Detour here to add 3 days to our trip to see Glacier National Park
September 20 - Drive and Site See and Arrive Home
